Promises tumbled out of her mouth in a glittering rush of
words he could never decipher,
like sea spray breaking over driftwood to settle
in a sand-filled knothole.
Trifextra 36 challenge. I cheated a little because when I saw the driftwood on the beach this weekend, I knew I had to use it.

I think I'm feeling bad for this guy since he's the driftwood in this simile. Very thought provoking.
ReplyDeleteThanks, lumdog2012! Don't feel too bad for him: it was a beautiful piece of driftwood sitting at the water's edge, being caressed by the Mediterranean on a beautiful summer day in October!
