Shelter

The deluge began in the foothills and quickly flooded the delta. Dolores left puddle prints as she slogged her way to the plains. She whistled her lips bone dry, sucked up the clouds of mystery. Stood barren before the one good man.

  8. I agree - there is something fable-ish about this piece. Lovely details crafted in a creative way, especially "sucked up the clouds of mystery." Love that line.

  9. Agree with the "fable-ish" feel. Emphasised by "Stood barren before one good man". It's almost biblical (in the best possible sense).
