Rites of Passage

Mom used to call him Betsy. With his soft voice, bowtie and gentle handshake, Dr. Stone was not the proper harbinger for the shock of the metal speculum or the forceps’ searing pinch.

want 33 words that are serious, deep and include the word "stone", because Lithium is the 3rd element.

  9. Glad I'm a guy. :) However, from what I have heard..........you certainly hit upon a most female of nerves on this, the INternational Day for Women. I'll just stop talking now.

    1. Lance, my dad was in the same pickle. You are much more understanding than he was... in fact, I love your blog's ironic title and pic. We had one bathroom and, by the time the girls reached puberty, I think he often peed in the bushes. ;^) Amy

  11. Dr. Stone... great piece. God grant me a quick Pap exam, and I'll stare at the "Hang in there, baby" poster on the ceiling. I'm OK as long as they have warm hands and warm the "spreader"!

Great subject for this 33 prompt. Also, "harbinger" is one of my favorite words. Odd but true! Amy
